- ➤ Officials warn that black ice poses a hidden danger on Wichita Falls roads as temperatures drop early in the morning and at dusk; drivers and pedestrians should slow down and stay alert in shaded bridges, overpasses, and curves — areas more likely to be iced over. News Channel 6
- ➤ Alpha Kappa Alpha Omicron Epsilon Omega is teaming up with local recycling resources from Feb. 9 through Feb. 13 to help Wichita Falls recycle—residents are encouraged to use bins at stores and apartments to reduce waste and save energy. News Channel 6
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The winter weather disrupted local blood drives as Our Blood Institute reports 86 cancellations and over 1,600 lost donations, while school closures have caused about 700 fewer donations each day. The agency had earlier declared an emergency blood shortage due to critically low inventories. News Channel 6
- ➤ United Regional has opened a new heart center for Texoma patients today. The facility will offer advanced cardiac treatments and improve access to specialized care for local residents. News Channel 6

- ➤ Wichita County home listings in December had a median price of $190,000—down 2.6% from November—and new listings increased 14.9% compared with December last year. Homes averaged 1,653 sqft at $120 per sqft and stayed on the market for 72 days. Times Record News
