- ➤ AAA Texas estimates that gas prices in Texas will rise by five cents this week due to a major winter storm — the statewide average for regular unleaded is now $2.50 per gallon, which is 24 cents lower than last year. News Channel 6
- ➤ According to the Texas Workforce Commission, Texas gained 19,700 nonfarm jobs in December, raising its total to 14,341,000 positions. Over the past year, the state added 132,500 jobs, with the largest gains in Trade, Transportation and Utilities, and Leisure and Hospitality. News Channel 6
