- ➤ Texas A&M AgriLife says low cattle numbers may drive beef prices up soon, as USDA data shows a 1% national drop and about 30,000 fewer cows in Texas — a slow herd rebuild amid drought concerns that could raise costs for ranchers. News Channel 6
