ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Fire and police responded to Walmart on Greenbriar today at 7:15 p.m. when a rotisserie chicken warmer malfunctioned and shorted its cord — employees used a fire extinguisher and health officials then removed food contaminated with its residue, leading to the disposal of a significant portion of inventory. - ➤ Masala & Curry opened on Thursday at Parker Square, located at 3001 Garnett Avenue in Wichita Falls, offering Nepali and Indian dishes including garlic shrimp Paneer, butter chicken, and goat masala. It serves dine-in, pickup, and delivery and is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Times Record News

- ➤ AAA Texas reports gas prices have climbed for a third consecutive week, with the statewide average at $3.58 and a 32-cent rise from last week — drivers are advised to reduce speed and check tire pressure as prices may hit $4 soon. News Channel 6

- ➤ A veteran educator was appointed as conservator for Wichita Falls ISD by the TEA after low academic ratings at the closed Kirby Middle School prompted the agreed order. Karen Garza will now oversee district operations to help improve student achievement. Times Record News
- ➤ Vernon College is starting a bidding process to upgrade the electrical system at its residence hall after last summer's $2.1 million renovation. The project is fully funded with reserve funds + is planned to finish before students return this fall. News Channel 6
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ City leaders said progress continues on Sikes Senter Mall after its October purchase, with interviews underway with several developers + officials expect to choose a candidate by summer’s end to kick off a three-year redevelopment project. News Channel 6
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ United Regional Health Care System in Wichita Falls is building a new 6,000 sqft Neonatal Intensive Care Unit meant for infants born as early as 26 weeks (it will have a full-term nursery, exam room, isolation rooms, eight patient rooms and a blood gas lab). Construction was seen on March 18 and the unit is coming soon. Times Record News
- ➤ United Regional Health Care System began remodeling the 20,000 sqft building at 1518 Ninth Street for a women's health clinic (the Obstetrics/Gynecology Division) as part of a $7.1 million Master Facilities Plan, with work scheduled to complete in December. Times Record News

- ➤ Graham won the girls' soccer playoff game against Randall in Burkburnett after regulation ended with a 0 to 0 tie and an injury paused play in the second half, with penalty kicks giving them a 3 to 0 victory. News Channel 6
