  • CVS at 3201 Seymour Highway in Wichita Falls will close on April 30 due to local population shifts and changing buying habits—prescriptions will be transferred to the store at 3601 Jacksboro Highway to maintain uninterrupted care. CVS said employees at the closing store will be offered comparable roles while it continues to operate another location on Southwest Parkway.  Times Record News
  • The Harley-Davidson dealership in Wichita Falls is getting a new name today as Red River Harley-Davidson becomes Copperhead Harley-Davidson—longtime owners Jim and Vickie Gilmore sold the business after 40 years.  Times Record News

  • The Wichita Falls Area Crime Stoppers are looking for Felix Medina, a 24 year old lottery fraud suspect described as a 5 foot 11 Hispanic man with brown hair and brown eyes.  News Channel 6

  • Today, a GasBuddy report shows Texas gasoline prices averaged $2.74 per gallon, 6.0 cents higher than a month ago and 40.6 cents lower than a year ago—spanning data from 13,114 stations.  News Channel 6

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Wichita Falls officials announced on March 24th that the combined water levels for Lake Kickapoo and Lake Arrowhead dropped by 0.8% to 67.1% after a warm weekend (Stage 1 Drought Restrictions remain in place).  News Channel 6

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today at 8 a.m., the Wichita Falls City Council meets in the MPEC Seminar Room—1000 Fifth Street—to consider five out-of-town finalists for city manager who will replace Darron Leiker, who resigned amid controversy last year.  Times Record News
  • Local inspectors from the Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health District inspected restaurants, food stores, schools, churches and mobile food units from March 7 to 20 and gave perfect scores to several restaurants such as 4:19 Nutrition, Dippin’ Dots and Eighth Street Coffee House (all meeting state food safety standards) to help keep foodborne illnesses in check (inspection scores varied for other businesses).  Times Record News
