- ➤ Wichita Falls Animal Services has launched a canned food drive to help shelter pets that have been arriving weak and undernourished. Community members can drop off canned kitten food, canned puppy food, and adult canned dog and cat food at 1207 Hatton Road from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturdays. - ➤ On April 1, the city and county declared April as Child Abuse Awareness Month to focus on education, prevention, and support for vulnerable children. CASA held its Walk of Knowledge event to display 431 confirmed child abuse victims from last year—volunteers and community members joined the route to support the call to action. Texoma's Homepage
- ➤ Stephanie Mescher, a Wichita Falls volunteer, is hosting a drive for animal shelter supplies through the end of May as kitten season increases the number of animals needing care. - ➤ Hospice of Wichita Falls celebrated its 40th anniversary on April 1 when Executive Director Alisa Echols cut the ribbon at a ceremony attended by community guests.
