COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Parks and Recreation Department will host the City’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt on April 12 at Hamilton Park located at 2901 Hamilton Blvd—from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Organizers said children will be grouped by age with start times at 2:00, 2:15, and 2:30 p.m. and that carnival games, Easter crafts, and 24 golden eggs for a special prize will add to the fun.  Texoma's Homepage
  • The City of Wichita Falls Animal Services Center featured Brin as Pet of the Week, describing this 7-month-old pet as very sweet. The $40 adoption fee covers a microchip, initial vaccinations (excluding rabies), and flea and tick preventative.  News Channel 6
  • Stephanie Mescher, a longtime Wichita Falls volunteer, is organizing a supply drive to collect items such as wet kitten food, kitten formula and heating pads for kittens. The supplies will be shared among Fanny’s Friends, Emily’s Legacy Rescue and City of Wichita Falls Animal Services, and local businesses are accepting drop-offs until June 1.  News Channel 6

  • Bealls store opened on April 4 at 8 a.m. at Southwest Parkway and Kemp near Hobby Lobby, and shoppers who waited over an hour cheered as the ribbon was cut.   • The Texas Alliance of Energy Producers will hold its annual expo in Wichita Falls April 14-15, featuring a trade show, golf tournament, barbecue and several speakers. Texas Railroad Commissioner Jim Wright will speak April 15—addressing state and federal energy concerns—and the event will mark its first return since 2018, reconnecting nearly 3,000 industry members with local roots.  Times Record News
  • The new Bealls Inc. outlet reopened on Friday at 2801 Southwest Parkway—inside the Hobby Lobby strip—when customers lined up before 7 a.m. despite rainy weather. The store will offer designer apparel, accessories, furnishings, and home decor and is open Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.  Times Record News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Wichita Falls will see new traffic lights activated Monday at the intersection of 10th Street and Scott Avenue; they will flash red and serve as a four-way stop for seven days—on April 14th the signals will shift to a full cycle. Drivers are urged to use caution as the new setup may catch some motorists off guard.  Times Record News

  • Wichita Falls Endoscopy Center is celebrating 20 years of service in the community and has helped thousands with gastrointestinal conditions using state-of-the-art technology + a skilled team. The center opened in a former Pioneer restaurant at 1500 Ninth St.  Times Record News
