Here's your local news at a glance for Sunday, the 6th of April.
Good morning, Wichita Falls.
🏘️ Community
First Step Wichita Falls hosted the Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event on Saturday at the Bill Bartley YMCA when inclement weather forced a change from the planned outdoor walk at Sikes Lake Center.
The event—aimed at supporting sexual assault survivors by having participants carry or wear heels to symbolize walking in their shoes—included representatives from WFPD and Crime Stoppers urging survivors to seek help.
🏥 Health
The Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health District inspected restaurants, food stores and mobile kitchens from March 20 to April 2 — finding issues like improper storage, undated food and a contaminated freezer at Grand Buffett.
They released scores from perfect to lower marks — which show that some places did not fully follow food-safety rules.
