- ➤ Texas senators will vote this week on Senate Bill 37 that would change how public universities teach about history, race and inequality by shifting course reviews to every five years and letting anyone file a complaint that may lead to funding cuts if issues are not fixed in 30 days. The bill also creates a state committee — made up of appointees from the governor, lieutenant governor and House speaker — to review core curricula and rate degree programs on their job readiness.
