  • Residents could order egg packages—25 eggs for $25, 40 eggs for $35, 60 eggs for $55, or 100 eggs for $90—before business closed on Tuesday, April 15, and the Egg My Yard fundraiser will take place Saturday evening, April 19 when local yards are egged with Easter eggs filled with candy and toys to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Wichita County.  Texoma's Homepage

BUSINESS NEWS

  • A popular Wichita Falls beef jerky shop closed permanently as its website went offline—its phone recording confirmed the shop no longer operates. The business, which opened in 2010, was known for its award-winning Kickin’ T Bone jerky—leaving local fans without a favorite treat.  Times Record News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Texoma lake levels dropped slightly this week — Lake Arrowhead decreased to 67.8% while Lake Kickapoo held at 67.6%, reducing their combined level by 0.1% to 67.8%. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Wichita Falls City Council on Tuesday annexed 33 acres on Randy Drive for light industrial use—this move may allow construction of two 125,000 square-foot data center warehouses and a gas power plant on land deeded from the Chamber of Commerce to KBD WF LLC on January 30. Councilors also adopted the 'Heart of the Falls' revitalization plan for older central neighborhoods and approved spending for a vacuum truck, a new airport parking gate system, summer day camp standards, and two GMC pickups.  Times Record News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Olney Hamilton Hospital broke ground on its new healthcare facility—an effort that will modernize services and expand care for patients. Hospital officials said the project will soon add updated treatment areas to better serve the community.  News Channel 6
  • Our Blood Institute is launching two blood donation promotions starting April 17 that reward donors with prizes—donors from April 17 to April 18 receive a free tree seedling and those donating from April 19 to April 21 get a $15 grocery coupon along with a cowboy-themed T-shirt. Anyone healthy and 16 or older can donate blood, and the process takes about one hour to help save up to three lives.  News Channel 6
