  • Tea N' Boba Bakery & More opened a new location at 3202 Seymour Highway today at the former site of Hive Community Coffee Co which closed in December. The bakery sells bubble tea, coffee and baked goods from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily while its original location remains open at 310 Wayne Ave.  Times Record News

CRIME NEWS

  • Crime Stoppers warned local residents today of a phone scam — a caller pretending to be Officer Johnson with the Wichita County Sheriff’s Office claimed residents missed jury duty, had an arrest warrant, and demanded money to avoid arrest.  News Channel 6

CULTURE NEWS

  • Jeremy Jarvis was chosen by the Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts and Culture and the City of Wichita Falls to create a large mural at Bridwell Park—he is known nationwide for his public art including a project for Disney. The mural is funded by the federal Community Development Block Grant program—it is expected to be finished by June.  Texoma's Homepage

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Early voting for the May 3 election began on April 22 and will continue through April 25 and again on April 28 and 29 at designated sites — including county courthouses and community centers. Voters in counties such as Archer, Clay, Jack, Knox, Wichita, and Young must follow set hours that begin at 8 a.m. and vary by location — details are available at local polling places.  Texoma's Homepage
  • The Wichita Falls Fire Department held training drills last week at its drill field and Central Fire Station to practice trench rescue, building scaling and equipment cleaning. Firefighters performed exercises on April 16 and April 22 to keep their skills sharp—each drill aimed at enhancing emergency response readiness.  Times Record News
