  • Eric Michael Skipper (a Wichita Falls man) was arrested Wednesday on charges of stealing over $300,000 from Lipscomb Power Sports and released on a $250,000 bond (he allegedly manipulated sales records to support his family and lifestyle).  Times Record News

  • Midwestern State University closed Centennial Hall after a roof drain failed during a recent storm and water damaged all four floors. The maintenance crew is working to repair and disinfect the building — they expect to reopen it before finals.  News Channel 6

  • The city of Wichita Falls warned yesterday that the mosquito population is expected to grow after recent rain—officials said that the large mosquitoes from flood waters do not carry disease. Vector control workers will begin spraying affected areas when weather allows and residents are advised to use an EPA approved repellant.  Times Record News

  • Today the Wichita County-Wichita Falls Public Health District is advising residents to use EPA-approved repellent as standing water on Texoma may boost floodwater mosquitos — known for biting through denim — while teams stand by with trucks and sprayers to treat affected areas.  News Channel 6
