  • The Wichita Falls Animal Services Reclaim Center is offering a special kitten adoption deal that lets you adopt one kitten for $10 or two for $20. The center has taken in 215 cats since April with 88 in the past two weeks — the deal is limited — and officials said it will not last long.  Texoma's Homepage

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Tuesday, a motorcycle accident claimed the life of 17-year-old Hayden Morrow on the 4300 block of Iowa Park Road — witnesses reported his motorcycle was speeding above 100 mph in the inside westbound lane — when an SUV turning east collided with him and he died at a hospital; police said this is the fourth traffic fatality in Wichita Falls this year.  Times Record News

CRIME NEWS

  • A man accused of shooting at police and volunteer firefighters during an October 2021 standoff on Turkey Ranch Road will go on trial Monday in 78th District Court in Wichita Falls on 14 counts of attempted capital murder—if convicted, he faces life without parole.  Times Record News

  • Team Selene from Midwestern State University's NASA SUITS program will head to Houston tomorrow for a design challenge at the Johnson Space Center—this trip marks their first face-to-face work with University of California Irvine as they join nine other teams to showcase their projects until May 22.  News Channel 6
  • Midwestern State University's Center for Nonprofit Management + Leadership in Dillard College of Business Administration met the benchmarks in education, research, and community engagement to join the Nonprofit Academic Centers Council. Director Sonia White, who has over 20 years of nonprofit experience, will serve as the council's member representative + extend the center’s efforts to support Wichita Falls and nearby communities.  Times Record News
