  • Residents gathered on May 26th in Wichita Falls at the annual Memorial Day ceremony—honoring fallen heroes and remembering local veterans.  News Channel 6
  • Today, friends, family, and veterans gathered at the Burkburnett cemetery to honor fallen heroes with a wreath, taps, and colors.   • The Booker T. Washington Alumni Association will host a bingo fundraiser on Saturday, June 7 at the Booker T. Washington Alumni Building to raise funds for an All School All Years Reunion.   • Car crashes involving teenage drivers increase during Memorial Day to Labor Day (the 100 deadliest days) as students are out of school, according to Tammy Gweedo McGee of the Gweedo Memorial Foundation. ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Water data shows that Lake Kickapoo is at 100% capacity and Lake Arrowhead is nearly full at 96.6% as heavy rains during April increased levels. Local officials say additional storms may push Arrowhead to full capacity—raising local flooding concerns.  News Channel 6
