CRIME NEWS

  • Wichita Falls Police arrested two suspects on May 29 for allegedly breaking into coin-operated machines at Roy’s Wash and Dry when an employee saw one tampering with a lock while the other acted as a lookout—now they face multiple burglary and theft charges with bonds set at $77,000 and $20,000.  Texoma's Homepage
  • Chance Crowe, 39, was arrested early Saturday, May 31, for allegedly striking a woman with a shotgun in Wichita Falls and threatening a pedestrian with a rifle — he now faces charges of aggravated assault with a weapon, interfering with public duties, and resisting arrest with bonds set at $13,000.  Texoma's Homepage

  • Railroad enthusiasts in Wichita Falls will join a weekend railroading adventure offered by Wichita Valley National Railway Historical Society from June 19 to June 21 that includes round-trip rides on three trains, personalized tours, visits to the Oklahoma Railway Museum and Fort Worth Stockyards, and a chance to win a ride controlling a diesel locomotive.   • The National Weather Service predicted rain and thunderstorms will continue through Sunday with up to 2 inches falling today—and a slight risk for severe storms—in Wichita Falls. The city received 18.51 inches of rain so far this year and its lakes Arrowhead and Kickapoo have reached 98.3% capacity as reservoir levels rose 0.9% over the past week.  Times Record News

  • Today, the Wichita Falls Transfer Station at 3200 Lawrence Road reopens after concrete repairs finished ahead of schedule. The facility offers free household waste disposal during normal business hours (Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and requires residents to show (valid ID and active city utility account) at the station.  Times Record News
