  • Wichita Falls Area Crime Stoppers is urging local parents to protect children online during National Internet Safety Month by advising the use of parental controls and open discussions on internet safety (call 940-322-9888 to report suspicious behavior).  News Channel 6
  • Wichita Falls Area Crime Stoppers report that 26-year-old Shantell Hargrove—described as a 5'05 woman with black hair and brown eyes—is wanted for burglarizing a habitation and urges anyone with information to contact law enforcement.  News Channel 6

ECONOMY NEWS

  • AAA Texas reported that only 16% of U.S. adults were likely to buy fully electric vehicles as their next car, marking the lowest interest level since 2019. High battery repair costs, a steep purchase price and Texas registration fees—$400 initially and $200 annually—are driving consumers to hesitate on EV purchases.  News Channel 6
  • A GasBuddy report showed that the average gasoline price in Texas dropped 4.4 cents per gallon last week, with local stations charging from $2.19 to $3.59—marking a lower cost for drivers. The report said prices were 6.8 cents lower than a month ago and 36.7 cents lower than a year ago—indicating a steady fall in the market.  News Channel 6

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Lake Arrowhead is at 97.7% and Lake Kickapoo remains at 100% with overflowing water that raised the combined capacity to 98.3%.   • Wichita Falls officials will hold a public hearing today from 3-4 p.m. at the Wichita Falls Public Library Conference Room to gather community input on housing needs that will shape the 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan, 2025 Action Plan, and housing analysis — city leaders also plan a second hearing in July to further discuss affordable housing and funding options.  Texoma's Homepage
