  • Oncor crews restored power to several Wichita Falls homes after fixing a faulty cable that affected transformers and left residents without electricity overnight on June 11.   • Local leaders met Tuesday, June 10 at the BTW Alumni Building in Wichita Falls to discuss future funding for the Eastside project — city officials, school board members and community organizers shared ideas on securing its financial future.  Times Record News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • McCoy School of Engineering is hosting a free week-long Young Engineers Summer day camp for local middle and high school students aged 13+ to 18 at MSU Texas from June 23 to 27, running from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Students must apply by Tuesday to join hands-on STEM workshops, a site visit, plus a tour of the Wichita Falls Howmet Aerospace Company, and must arrange their own transportation.  Times Record News

  • On June 7th, Wichita Falls native Emanuel “El Trompo” Moreno won the WBA Continental USA Bantamweight Championship by defeating Khalid Twaiti by unanimous decision with scores of 79-73, 80-72, and 78-74. He said his win is a historic moment in his career — and he plans to bring the celebration back to Wichita Falls soon.  News Channel 6
