- ➤ City officials announced that the 4th in the Falls Freedom Fest will take place on Independence Day evening, co-hosted by Sheppard Air Force Base and featuring food trucks, vendors, a classic car show, live music and a Battle of the Bands. The festival begins at 5 p.m. with a national anthem and flyover at 6:30 p.m.—News Channel 6 will air live coverage at 9 p.m.—and ends with a fireworks display. News Channel 6
- ➤ The Wichita Boots and Badges Blood Drive will be held on June 18 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church—donors will help the police and fire departments compete while every donor who registers online 24 hours before the event triggers a donation to Hands to Hands. - ➤ Wichita Falls City Council is meeting today at 8:30 a.m. in the MPEC Seminar Room to discuss adding $388,654 to the Auditorium renovation budget, demolishing 15 dangerous structures including the Berry Brown House and former Freedom Baptist Church, and changing bus fares to offer a $3.50 day pass instead of single ride tokens.
