- ➤ Today, KFDX volunteers helped Camp Fire North Texas celebrate Nexstar's 29th Founders Day of Caring—an initiative started by founder Perry Sook that included a $2,500 donation to support a local mentorship program for kids. - ➤ City of Wichita Falls Animal Services has shared steps to protect pets this Independence Day as fireworks may startle animals and cause them to run away or get injured. - ➤ Emily’s Legacy Rescue introduced Panda, a Leonberger around a year and a half old who is a bit timid but friendly, during a studio visit yesterday. The group will be at Petco today from noon to 4 p.m.—offering pets for adoption at set fees and selling T-shirts. News Channel 6

- ➤ Under HB 1481, Texas public school students will not use phones, earphones, or smartwatches during the school day except for emergencies starting in August—Wichita Falls ISD already uses phone pouches and other districts plan to warn and then confiscate devices if found—and educators will notify parents in July so students are ready.
