- ➤ Residents in Texoma can enjoy free Fourth of July celebrations in Wichita Falls, Henrietta, Burkburnett, Waurika and Seymour. In Wichita Falls, the 4th in the Falls Freedom Fest at MPEC Festival Park will start at 5 p.m. with a Battle of the Bands and finish with fireworks at 9:45 p.m.—other towns will host free events featuring live music, food and community fun—ensuring a festive holiday across the region. - ➤ At Iowa Park Lake, the annual Brian and Vici Tarr Lifejacket Drive provided free life jackets to promote safety after a drowning tragedy—started eight years ago. - ➤ A Wichita Falls man is facing a capital murder charge after he allegedly deceived his ex-girlfriend into riding with him and then shot her, with police saying her body was found in a field near Cashion on June 19 and his bond was raised from $1 million to $3 million—further court proceedings are pending.
