  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Wichita County will hold its Buns and Blessings event on Saturday, July 19 — offering free haircuts, clothes, shoes, school supplies, and hygiene items to support BBBS youth. ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A TxDOT analysis found that 86.85% of Wichita County’s 2,708 crashes occurred in Wichita Falls, with the highest number—686 accidents—happening on Fridays between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. + Pleasant Valley recorded only 13 crashes, making it the safest area.  Texoma's Homepage

CRIME NEWS

  • Former Wichita Falls pastor Paul Andrew Coleman, 69, pleaded guilty Friday to child sex crimes involving incidents with at least two children at his church and home and received a 30-year prison sentence—his plea covered two counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child and one count of Indecency with a Child/Sexual Contact.  Times Record News
  • On Friday, July 11, Wichita Falls police arrested Baylee Aaron Stephens—operator of Todd’s Quick Change—for repeated harassment including unwanted calls, texts, and vandalism dating back to January 2023, and his bond was posted on Saturday, July 12.  Texoma's Homepage

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Communities In Schools of the Greater Wichita Falls Area will host a Community Convocation on July 31 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. in Room 101 of the MSU Dillard building (guest speakers include WFISD Superintendent Dr. Donny Lee and the event will feature a light breakfast and awards for program participants).  Texoma's Homepage
  • On Monday, July 14th, WFISD board approved a $140K grant to purchase body cameras for all district officers to enhance safety for students, teachers, and officers.
