- ➤ The Wichita Falls Fire Department responded to a structure fire near Memorial Stadium caused by an electrical short that led to damage of ($10,000) to the building and ($1,000) to belongings with no injuries reported. News Channel 6

- ➤ On July 18, two brothers were arrested after officers linked them to several vehicle burglaries using surveillance footage and a traffic stop just after 3 a.m.—Alexavier, age 21, who was found with two guns, and Stephen, age 25, who fled then was later located, face charges for burglary, firearm possession and evading arrest while they are held in jail with bonds totaling $202,500 and $270,000. - ➤ River Bend Nature Center began its last summer camp of the year today, where children learn about wild critters and take part in hands-on projects like making animal habitats and bird feeders. - ➤ The Texas Department of Transportation launched Operation Slowdown today to help local law enforcement curb speeding by using overtime grants—Wichita Falls recorded 720 speed-related crashes last year with nine deaths and 50 serious injuries, and the operation will run until Aug. 3 to help reduce crashes statewide.
