  • City of Wichita Falls Parks and Recreation will host auditions on Saturday, August 2 for the new Embers Performing Jazz Team for experienced dancers aged 6 to 12—led by dance professional Kat Johnson. Applicants chosen must commit to three evening practice sessions and six to eight performances from August to December and will pay a $10 audition fee along with a $350 instruction fee.  Texoma's Homepage

  • The well-known convenience store Carey’s Corner will close on July 31 due to an expired lease after 33 years of service, leaving owner Carey Mabry and many locals heartbroken.   • Cynthia Gail Gray—50 and a Wichita Falls bail bond company employee from Iowa Park—was arrested Tuesday on five charges of tampering with government records after a months-long investigation found she created and sold false auto insurance forms, and she is now held on $125,000 bail in Wichita County Jail.  Times Record News
  • A Wichita County jury sentenced 45-year-old Burkburnett man Ronald Burdick to 35 years in prison after he admitted to shooting 41-year-old Michael Wesley Randall from a parked pickup truck in Burkburnett on June 9, 2023—he is now held at Wichita County Jail pending transfer.  Times Record News
  • Wichita Falls Police are seeking help to locate missing elderly woman Brenda Berube Horn—who does not get around well and was last seen walking near N. Beverly and Iowa Park Rd—and urge anyone with information to call 911.  Texoma's Homepage

  • Today, the city of Wichita Falls is seeking a new partner to manage the MPEC facility after ending its contract with Spectra Venue Management in 2021 (the previous operator encountered losses).
