  • On July 16, the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank set a new record by redeeming more farmers market vouchers in one day than in the past two months, benefiting local WIC recipients. CRIME NEWS

  • On July 28 at 4:35 p.m., Wichita Falls officers stopped a blue Chevrolet Camaro for a license tag mismatch and, after detecting a marijuana odor, searched the car and discovered 118.67 grams of cocaine—leading to the arrest of Ivory Joe Henderson, a man with previous drug arrests, with his bond set at $50,000.  Texoma's Homepage
  • El Norteño Restaurante in Wichita Falls reported a break-in on Monday, July 28 when cash registers, tool sets, meats, cords + boxes connected to its security systems were stolen and it urged anyone with useful information to contact the authorities.  News Channel 6

  • The Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts and Culture is accepting nominations for the 2025 ACE Awards to honor local artists, organizations, educators, volunteers, and businesses—nominations must be submitted online by Friday, August 29 with finalists to be announced in September and winners celebrated on Thursday, October 23 at the MPEC.  Texoma's Homepage

  • Third Future Schools took over Hirschi Middle School because of failing test scores, leading to staffing changes where 11 teachers stayed, 35 were reassigned, and six resigned.   • Atmos Energy donated backpacks to area schools yesterday — including Bellevue ISD, Chillicothe ISD, Electra ISD, Petrolia ISD, Quanah ISD and Seymour ISD — as part of its Fueling Safe and Thriving Communities Initiative ahead of Back to School season.  News Channel 6
  • The YMCA of Wichita Falls will soon start its before and after school programs for the 2025-2026 school year to offer transportation, tutoring and healthy habit lessons at City View Elementary, John Tower Elementary and Booker T.   • Sikes Senter merchant Amy Walker began an online and paper petition drive to let voters decide if the mall should be renovated rather than demolished for a new football stadium and retail center—most merchants support her move to protect their jobs.
