  • The Lab in Wichita Falls will host an Art Battle on August 16 where artists compete in three rounds and auction their artwork. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City councilors in Wichita Falls discussed updating the tornado siren policy after the sirens did not sound during an April 29 warning (current rules require a confirmed tornado or wind speeds above 58 mph) and residents raised concerns. Officials will update the policy by the end of the year (emergency crews say the sirens are meant mainly for people outdoors) to improve public safety.  Texoma's Homepage

  • Families in Wichita Falls are invited to attend the 'It Takes A Village' breastfeeding support event, which will be held Friday, August 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Public Library and hosted by the WIC program and North Texas Area Breastfeeding Coalition+.  Texoma's Homepage
  • Restaurants and food stores in Wichita Falls were inspected from July 11 to 29, and while many earned perfect scores, Napoli's Italian Restaurant scored 84 and did not receive a permit due to multiple violations—such as roaches seen on counters and unsanitary conditions.
