  • A Wichita Falls woman, Brittany Michelle Bowman, 36, died after her 2012 Nissan Altima was struck late Saturday at the intersection of West Benton Street and South Prairie Avenue in Petrolia when a Dodge Ram driven by Marc Stephen Deffenbaugh, 47, of Abilene failed to yield—Deffenbaugh was hospitalized in Wichita Falls with serious injuries.  Times Record News
  • A new study by High Rise Financial finds August is the deadliest month for motorcycle riders in Texas as the state and 11 others reported the most rider fatalities due to increased riding during warmer weather and summer holidays — and experts say inattentive driving heightens the risk of accidents.  News Channel 6
