Here's your local news at a glance for Tuesday, the 2nd of September.
Good morning, Wichita Falls.
🏘️ Community
Today, a local business in Wichita Falls is hosting a donation-driven yoga class that invites residents to practice wellness and support local charities.
The event — with no set fee — promotes a community health initiative through voluntary contributions.
🏥 Health
Between August 20 and August 28, the Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health District inspected local restaurants and food outlets and found issues such as dead crickets, dusty fridge fan covers and missing liquid soap at hand washing stations.
Some establishments earned perfect scores while others needed to fix many problems to meet state food safety rules.
📰 Real Estate
The Wichita Falls housing market is cooling as rising home inventory and slower sales have led to lower average prices and more days on market compared to last year.
Broker Danny Steed and the Texas Real Estate Research Center said that if mortgage rates drop in September—spurring more buyer interest, the market could shift further toward a buyers’ market.
