  • Midwestern State University completed a $50 million renovation of Bolin Hall that now features modern classrooms, lecture halls and conference rooms for science students—university officials say the updates boost learning after more than a year and a half of work.  News Channel 6

  • William Norris III announced his bid for Wichita County Sheriff today—he said he will bring fresh ideas and dedicated service to the office.  News Channel 6
  • Wichita County's new sheriff, Will Rutledge, was sworn in on September 1st at the Wichita County Courthouse—he took command after David Duke retired following 40 years of service.  Times Record News
  • The Iowa Park Field Office reopens today at 8 a.m.—the building was fully renovated and a new parking lot added—and residents who were directed to other locations during the work can now use the updated facility.  Times Record News

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • The Wichita Falls housing market is seeing lower home prices and a 30% increase in listings that make buying more affordable. Consultant broker Danny Steed said interest rates have dropped about half a percent—helping keep the market stable.  News Channel 6
