The council also approved using a $1 million grant from the Texas governor’s office to help fund a $43 million runway renovation project at Sheppard Air Force Base + the city’s regional airport shares facilities. - ➤ The Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health District inspected local restaurants and food stores from Sept. 4-12 and found several food safety violations—such as improperly stored food, damaged floors, and dead crickets from unsealed doors—with some issues corrected during the review. - ➤ United Regional has welcomed Dr. Jordan Teel, an orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and hip preservation, to its Wichita Falls team. She earned her degree from Baylor and completed her residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas and is trained in hip arthroscopy—an advanced technique that may help patients avoid hip replacement surgery.
