BUSINESS NEWS

  • Goodin Plumbing is a family-owned business that has served Wichita Falls and North Texas for more than 30 years and is now led by JC and Courtney Goodin— they focus on quality service and modern technology like tankless water heaters and drain cameras while training new apprentices through the i.d.e.a. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Falls in Wichita Falls is shut down indefinitely because city workers cleaned and checked the structure, and they will complete an assessment for repairs by the end of the year—access to the nearby trail stays open.  Times Record News
  • The city will buy Sikes Senter on October 15 and plan to tear down the old mall for mixed retail—plus a new stadium complex for Midwestern State University. The Wichita Falls Chamber is working with a firm from the Dallas-Fort Worth area to manage the property until a developer is chosen, with the project expected to take four years and cost up to $200 million.  Times Record News

SPORTS NEWS

  • U.S. Navy sailors performed pregame and halftime ceremonies at the Midwestern State University versus Eastern New Mexico University football game on September 20 at Memorial Stadium in Wichita Falls as part of Navy Week outreach. Rear Adm. Alexis T. Walker also took part in the events, which featured drill team displays and flag salutes.  Times Record News
  • At Memorial Stadium on Friday night, Legacy cheerleaders and fans showed their support for the Leopards in a non-district game against the Canyon Randall Raiders even though the team lost 27-0. They will rally again at the game against the Wylie High Bulldogs on Friday, Sept 26—hoping to improve their season.  Times Record News
