COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Vendors have arrived early for the annual Fall Market Retail and Lifestyle Trade Show at the MPEC’s Ray Clymer Exhibit Hall, where over 100 local and regional sellers will offer unique products for the fall season. Today the event runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.—and it will continue on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.—with free admission and door prizes.  News Channel 6
  • Hospice of Wichita Falls will host a fall carnival for local families and community members—organizers will announce time and location soon.  News Channel 6

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Wichita Falls Chamber of Commerce CEO Ron Kitchens will step down to assume the new CEO role at Greater St. Louis, Inc—he has driven key projects with Sheppard Air Force Base, data center investments and the Sikes Senter Mall redevelopment during his three years, and the Chamber said his initiatives will continue after his departure.  News Channel 6

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Residents can pick up a free load of compost at the annual giveaway on Oct. 4 at the landfill on Wiley Road if they show a Wichita Falls water bill with the $3 recycling charge. City employees will load one pickup truck or trailer per person and ensure all loads are covered—meeting state law requirements.  Times Record News

  • Today, Our Blood Institute is hosting a sickle cell blood drive—local donors in Wichita Falls are encouraged to give blood to support patients with sickle cell disease.  News Channel 6
