  • Today several local school districts and community groups honor Kylie Mills on her 16th birthday by wearing pink to support her fight against an inoperable brain cancer. Her father said the gesture lifts their spirits—showing that Kylie has strong community care as she receives treatment in Columbus.  News Channel 6
  • Camp Fire North Texas will host its annual Halloween Drive Thru event later this month with festive decorations and treats for community visitors—final event details will be announced soon.  News Channel 6
  • Tuesday night, Wichita Falls honored cancer survivors and caregivers at the annual American Cancer Society Relay for Life Survivors Dinner by sharing a meal, music and inspiring speeches — an event supported by Texas Oncology that reminded everyone no one faces cancer alone.  News Channel 6

  • Casa Manana—a landmark family restaurant at 609 Eighth St.—is in danger of closing due to slow business and new paid parking that has reduced customer visits. ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Today, naturalists from the Rolling Plains Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalist program met with students at City View High School to plant milkweed and tag monarch butterflies that migrate from Canada to Mexico.   • Voters in Wichita Falls who have moved or changed their names must update their registration by Oct 6 if they want to vote on Nov 4—options include online, by mail, or in person at a local office.
