- ➤ Beacon Lighthouse will host its annual white cane walk next week to honor National White Cane Safety Day. The free event will take place at 11 a.m. next Thursday, Oct. 23rd—at 300 7th St.—and will offer hands-on training on using the white cane to help those who are visually impaired gain independence. - ➤ The Boys and Girls Clubs of Wichita Falls will host free Halloween parties at all branch locations on Oct. 29 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.—activities will include face painting, special games, and refreshments, and parents must accompany children who are not club members. Times Record News

- ➤ Atmos Energy kicked off its Year of Giving campaign on October 6 by handing out $35,000 in checks to the North Texas Area United Way and Salvation Army—its employees will pledge money to local programs with donations matched and a breakfast delivery for first responders planned for October 28.
