GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Wichita Falls introduced a new tornado siren policy as Fire Chief Cody Melton told City Council Tuesday that all 53 sirens will sound when the National Weather Service issues a tornado warning or when a trained storm spotter observes a tornado or funnel cloud (to improve clarity). Under the new plan, the sirens will sound for 3 minutes, rest for 5 minutes and repeat until the warning ends (eliminating the all-clear tone). Times Record News
- ➤ The northbound and southbound lanes of Brook Avenue between Elizabeth Avenue and 11th Street are closed today for a large water main break repair; officials will reopen the road when both repairs are complete—drivers should take an alternate route to avoid delays. News Channel 6
