- ➤ Meals on Wheels in Wichita Falls is launching its annual sock and blanket drive with a goal of collecting 800 blankets and pairs of socks. Donations are accepted on November 14 from 10am — 2pm at Grubb’s Family of Dealerships, all local showrooms, the Meals on Wheels Wichita County Office, and Walmart on Lawrence Road. News Channel 6

- ➤ Some businesses at Sikes Senter Mall are preparing to relocate as leases expire, forcing stores like Withershins Menagerie to move to a new downtown site near the Wichita County Annex — city officials said no major changes to the mall are planned until 2027. - ➤ MSU President Stacia Haynie will flip the switch just after 6 p.m. on November 24 to light the Hardin Administration Building lawn for the 52nd annual MSU-Burns Fantasy of Lights display— a tradition that began in the 1920s. - ➤ AAA Texas reported that gas prices have stayed relatively stable as we approach Thanksgiving, with Texas averaging $2.64 per gallon for regular unleaded fuel—prices are five cents higher than last week but four cents lower than last year. News Channel 6

- ➤ The Texas A&M Forest Service warned that wildfire danger is increasing in Texas after 10 days of dry weather & a recent hard freeze made native grasses more flammable. - ➤ Residents in Wichita Falls will attend Veterans Day ceremonies on Tuesday, with an 11 a.m. event at Memorial Stadium (5401 Southwest Parkway) featuring District 4 Councilor Mike Battaglino and a 5:30 p.m. ceremony at the Veterans Memorial Plaza with Mayor Tim Short speaking. Nonessential city offices and the Wichita County Courthouse will be closed Tuesday, so trash pickup will occur on Wednesday while the Transfer Station, landfill, and curbside organics recycling pickup will not operate as scheduled.
