- ➤ The Boy Scouts of America’s Northwest Texas Council will host its annual Americanism lunch on November 17 at 10:30 a.m. at the MSU Clark Student Center. Local leader Nancy Brown will receive an Americanism award while Oracle’s Jim Daniel will speak at the event. News Channel 6

- ➤ Eastside icon Brenda Jarrett — with help from Elizabeth Hawley and Becky Trammell — compiled stories and photos documenting Booker T. Washington School from 1921 to 1969, a project honored by the Wichita County Historical Commission. A book release event will be held on Thursday, November 13th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Wichita County Archives in the Museum of North Texas History at 720 Indiana Ave. News Channel 6
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ A GasBuddy survey of over 13,000 Texas gas stations showed that average gasoline prices increased by 9.3 cents per gallon in the past week. Prices today ranged from $2.17 to $3.79 and remain 8.6 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and 2.4 cents per gallon lower than a year ago—highlighting a moderate price shift across the state. - ➤ WFISD Board of Trustees held a meeting today at the Education Center where Superintendent Dr. Donny Lee explained that new wrestling equipment and an incentive pay plan for early retirement were approved to help avoid staffing gaps—measures that also include a resolution for Wichita Appraisal District representation with over 500 votes. These changes are expected to impact student engagement and district oversight as they move forward into the new year. News Channel 6
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Our Blood Institute announced a blood donation campaign that is inspired by a holiday movie and will run from November 10 to December 25; the program offers donors a special shirt and anyone healthy and 16 or older can donate to help save up to three lives. News Channel 6
- ➤ The Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health District inspected local restaurants, food stores, and mobile units from Oct 30 to Nov 7 to check compliance with state food safety rules. Many venues earned perfect scores while others, such as Sweetooth Donuts (which had issues with hand-washing and labeling), had violations corrected during the inspections. Times Record News
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ GB Construction plans to build a new strip center at the northeast corner of Seymour Highway and Barnett Road in west Wichita Falls to house five or six businesses including a restaurant to address the local dining shortage—property owners also expect nearby residential growth. The project is in the design phase and will break ground in six to eight months with completion planned between March and May. Times Record News
