Good morning, Wichita Falls.
The No Fallen Heroes Foundation is launching a veteran support program—details to be announced soon—to help local veterans access needed services.
On Tuesday, the Wichita Falls Fire Department responded to a call at 3208 Seymour Rd. and found smoke coming from the roof of a large vintage home owned by a community church corporation — firefighters quickly controlled the blaze, causing an estimated $25,000 in damage, and the cause is under investigation.
The City of Wichita Falls will work with Lucy Park Renewable LLC to turn landfill methane into energy and save about $9 million.
The project will earn at least $30,000 a month and begin by May 2027 — its revenues may help reduce taxes and boost funds for a local nonprofit.
Yesterday, Wichita County Commissioners approved a 10-year tax abatement for Houston-based Total Energies Renewable’s plan to build a large solar farm on 6,000 acres near Burnett Ranch Road and State Highway 240, contingent on an $830 million investment.
The project will use over 1.56 million panels to produce 625 megawatts of power and begin construction in the first quarter of 2026, with operations starting by 2030—officials said the plan also includes safety measures with local fire departments.
Decorated fighter pilot Matthew Buckley started No Fallen Heroes Foundation to help veterans struggling during the holiday season by using psychedelic therapy—this approach includes healing retreats, integration calls, and grants for families and first responders.
The foundation has supported over 100 veterans, reminding them they are not alone as they adjust to civilian life.
