- ➤ Texas Department of Public Safety reported that 66-year-old Stephen Hart of Eaton, Colorado died in a crash on US 281 north of Windthorst at 6:20 a.m. on April 24 when he veered off the road while towing a trailer and crashed through a fence — his truck later stopped in a small creek. - ➤ On Wednesday, three Wichita Falls public schools were put on secure status during a five-hour manhunt for a man wanted on theft, burglary and parole violation charges, and after police found no direct threat they lifted restrictions at two schools while Legacy High stayed locked—after-school activities there were canceled and officers later found the suspect under a beaver dam in a creek.
